100 acres is 4,356,000 square feet.
If it is flat and square then each side should be approximately 2087.1 ft
with four sides then he would need approximately 8348.4 ft
Depending on the shape and hills, the feet of fence may vary.

100 acres square you can get an idea. Rectangle you need to measure. Get out there and measure either step it or use something more accurate. If it is the whole property there will be a survey you can just go read.

Why do you need it high fenced for hogs???  Why dont just hog fence it off, $1 a foot is going rate down here for that with a cleared right of way, of course if they are going to stock it with deer goats elk sheep u can spend more for the high fence, if you are going to build a hog fence i would shorten the space for t posts to every 10 feet and place 2 bobwires at the bottom of the fence and 1 at the top of the fence to help keep them from running thru it.  Most of the game fence down here is turkey put up for $2.50 a foot with ranch furnished right of way by dozing or maintainer or backhoe.  You can rent post slammers and do it yourself with the roll attchment to go on front of skidloaders too and save money.

jwdeltx,

A square mile is 640 acres.

hogdoggintn has the math right...8,348 lf assuming it is flat and all fence runs are straight.

I used to do surveying and had some large land pieces that never closed out. Take 100 square feet. In a square that would be ten foot sections 10X10=100 there would be 40 feet of fence 10+10+10+10=40. A rectangle that is twenty feet by five is also 100 sq ft 20X5=100. But 20+20+5+5=50 that would be 50 feet of fencing. So without knowing the shape it is impossible to know you are only guessing. Go measure it. It is not that hard to measure 100 acres. For a hunt or two I will measure it for you.
