Ewwwww my kinda VS.

Lemme crack my knuckles and get down to b'ness.  Cool

Well first thing is the sharp contrast of Brindle dogs... it's just vicious on the eyes and usually cause migraines.
Second Brindle dogs smell funny.  Sorry....they just do.

Why deviate from a beautifully crafted gift from above,  that was bestowed upon us like a soft summers rain smelling of fresh  linen and cucumber ...known to native ETHD members as the majestic YBMC.

Simple,

Reds..look better as color choices for Ford Prius's.

Saddlebacks.....look better tied to hitching posts

And B&T........hmmmmmm...All I can visualize is blurting out loud. "TREE MY DOG"

Be careful, its highly contagious, symptoms include but are not limited to  excessive smiling, more caught hogs, and  hunter envy!!!

I also prefer the brindle saddlebacks.  My second choice would be the solid red dog.

Ok back to serious.

Look wise. Guess my OCD just prefers uniformity with Yeller dogs.

I hunted with a line of brindles years ago that belonged to some kinfolk that I really liked. They came Yeller  tiger striped and dark brinde with black mouths and ears. They typically were not roll out hunters but were just bout the badest critter walking in the woods and were extremely successful in the catch or kill methods.

Have only saw one line of red dogs that ever impressed and think they are all gone now.
Saddlebacks.. Hell I would just rather get a july and be done with it.
The B&T we call reverse curs around here. And I have seen several jam up dogs along the way.
Cats were not brought up....so I will refrain from my true feelings and experiences with them to save small childrens innocence.   laugh

Other than looks ....I am sure their are good and badduns in all lines. But I have just always seemed to be more successful in getting a higher percentages of workers our of the Yellers.

every now and then I cut the tail on a yeller and call it a mtn cur...  Wink they ususally develop more range, hunt, and nose...not to mention that they stick on track as long as it takes...just the breed name change does the trick...or is it the tail docking???  Huh?

YELLOWBLACKMASK.........That "funny" odor you are smelling on the brindles is what an actuall dog smells like.  I realize you may not be aware such odors becuase you hunt them yeller belly dogs, and they are too busy sucking tail pipe to smell like anything other than exaust.  Oh well, atleast you dont hunt with catahoulas.    By the way........WHY ARE YOU ALLWAYS SHOUTING YOUR HANDLE?   Grin Grin Grin

In all seriousness, The best dogs I've hunted behind were brindle or black. When It comes to color, I actually prefer red dogs.  Easier to see in the woods and they run cooler in the summer than dark dogs.  Its a shame that the red gene is recessive to black.  Black and tan is a fun color for cur dogs. Grin.  It helps me pick out the true cur dog men, from the wannabes who don't know that Cur dogs come in Black and tan. Evil angel
