This is a new dog Cracker given to me by a good friend here a while back. I have not got to see him in action due to Deer Season until today. He was more than a handful the first week I had him here tried to eat me up a few times and about the third time I got a belly full of that chit and gave him the boot to ass treatment and now we are best friends . Today My brother and I caught a 150 160 lb boar hog in one of my traps took him to a big pen I got we worked some of my young dogs on him. Took Ole Cracker but didnt let him bay just made him watch cause I figure he was gonna get real real ruff real quick as I was told . So we turn the hog loose in a open feild and gave the boar hog a chance to get away . His freedom was about 400 yds sprint to the wood line if he made it he could live if he didnt he was home made sasauge. Anyway gave him about a 100 yd head start and turn only Cracker loose . Cracker looked like a Tomahawk missle and suck the hog up at about the 250 yd mark , hammed him spun him and then about three barks later hit the ear and the hog was done stick a fork in him it was over. Anyway he is gonna make a great edition to my dogs and add some real Whoa power till the catch dog are dogs can get there. He is a Straight "Partin" dog Cracker Cur natural Bob tail and the result of a Father x Daughter breeding . Dont know much about the Cracker Curs but I tell ya I really like this one . Thanks to my huntin buddy Brent again for this dog. It was a challange the first week I had him till I got pissed , he is pretty damn smart because I think he knew was my next move was gonna be if he didnt get right real quick. Cracker

Yeah , guess it was the strange place and strange people . But after the ass kicking he got after the third time it disappeared and he is just as friendly as he can be now to everybody he will knock you down now loving on ya. Just took a little time for him to adjust and find out who the boss was I guess. He was fixing to take a dirt nap if it would not have stopped when it did he was a pretty ruff dude at first . I like a dog that don't let many handle him on the yard chain keeps the thief's away most are mine are like that but he was extra bad at the time . I don't recommend anybody trying to take any of mine off the chain if they don't know you personally.

Yeah I tell ya Lance here three are so years ago I was bitchin about to ruff kinda dogs went threw 11 staple guns that one huntin season but buddy there was no such thing as running hogs it didnt really matter what size they was they was not safe, so I just thought I wanted to knock some of the grit out of my dogs thinking I will knock just a tad out of them so they will not be catchy but gritty as hell so I bred the little bit of catch down and everything else still in. Well now after two solid years of chasing hogs again across country like a damn idiot with some pretty ruff gritty dogs noting like what I had before. I can dang well say once I put it back in the true grit in your face slam me are am gonna slam you kinda dogs it will never be took out of my dogs again for no reason are nobody ! Thats a bunch of BS having to run hogs like that thats not catchin hogs that chasing them for miles and the hogs are getting worse and worse . Am not saying we didnt catch a lot of hogs but the big big bad dudes a lot of them get away when before we would have had their heads hanging on the fence post !

Lance you know all about my ole Blu gyp were she comes from what she is . I tell ya am about half tempted to breed this Cracker dog to her if I only know excatly what he was, you see I have not been able to hunt him becauce of all this deer season. But from what I seen today from him and what he could do on that med size hog kinda got me to thinking about that. This ole Blu gyp is in heat now and is the very best cur dog I ever seen myself on a big trophy type boar hog and she has stopped and help caught a many many of them and got all the witnesses to back it up and pics and videos . She is now nine years ole so that will tell you something about how smart a dog she is having lived that long being the kind of big boar kinda dog she is and was known with the people that know her. I wonder how smart of dogs these Cracker Curs are. I just dont know much about them . What you think about that ?

THD. That is a nice looking Fl Cur. Got one that looks just like him. My Zipper Fl Cur will find and catch his own. He will bay a big rank one but will catch when the catchdog gets there or another dog. Start hunting him with your other dogs and I am sure he will turn out nicely for you. Just bred my Zipper dog to my female Fl Cur Fancy.

THD. Most of them that I have had will catch what they can handle and bay the rest till another dog shows up. I feel they are good for stopping runners, catching, and finding their own. They are usually short to medium range dogs (200-500yds) so they do not fit for some hunters who are looking for a long range dog. BobDog. I have not heard of anyone using Fl Curs for anything except cattle and hogs. Do not think they have any treeing genetics, least mine do not.

Thats exactly what I was looking for to breed into. I don't care for now long long range dogs anymore. Most mine will hunt on out to 500 1000 yds one gyp I got will go a lot further which is to much for me really just don't care for it anymore if you are in a place were there is sign there is hogs there your dogs just have to find them. I like dogs that ck in every 15 20 mins make big rounds and we move on up. You can cover a ton of ground throughly if you got the right dogs. I like to move with the dogs and as they go .

Jimmy their your dogs and it might turn out great but I think I would breed her to Horn and tighten the family blood back up a little. You've already got an outcross with the 1/2 Plott in Horn and at Blue's age this might be her last litter and it would be a shame if the pups did'nt turn out like you want them and she never had another litter. As rough as Blue is and as gritty as Horn is I think the pups would turn out just like you want them and you could keep it in the family. If you want to see what he's got then lets go hunting this weekend. I've got two big places that we can go to that nobody deer hunts. One place is 10,000 acres and the other place is 3,500 acres. That will let you see what he is made of and help you make up your mind. I would just hate to experiment with what might be her last litter. You can always breed him to Hanna or Whitey later if you like him and Blue might come in again and you could breed him to her then. Their your dogs and you know what works on them. Go with your gut feeling because it is usually right. Let me know if you want to go hunting this weekend.
