Mike, PM me the information you got on the pups, parents age and who you bought em from, I can tell you just about anything you want to know about em. Dang near every dog in my yard comes straight from Mr. Witherspoon himself.

Bought the pups from david couborn out of sour lake the dads name was duke and mom im not sure theyre not paperd through him so i have no bloodline history

Well it just so happens that you bought them pups from one of my closest friends and hunting buddies lol. The momma to them pups is nina, a bad to the bone meaner than sin no bs hogdog. I have had the pleasure of hunting behind her and duke ALOT. You wont find papers on these dogs anywhere because they are not papered. I will give Mr. Witherspoon a shout this evening, both of nina's parents came off of Mr. Witherspoons yard, I can't remember the parents on dukes side but I will find out for you, I do know that he came from Mr. Witherspoons yard as well though. The momma to nina is still there and even being old and crippled up I watched her run down and catch a 30lb shoat last weekend in a pasture behind his house. I will bet good money that you will be more than happy with them pups, nina is a hell of a strike dog, easily one of the top 5 i've seen in my life, even with her bad leg she still puts pork down consistently, Duke is like a brick wall to a hog.....unless they manage to run over him they usually don't get past him. I will relay all background information that I can pick Mr. Witherspoons brain about regarding these dogs. Best of luck with em, I don't think you will be disappointed! |

Kyle is his first name. I can't honestly say how long they have been around, but it has been at least 15yrs that I know of for sure.

Ok, just got back from kyles house, i made a mistake in my above post, sue sue was not nina's mom, sue was nina's great aunt, nina's mom was a gyp named nicki.... Kyle lost nicki to a gator about 3 weeks ago, he said she was one of the better to come up in his yard and that sue sue throws rougher pups than nicki but nicki produced pups with a little more sense and ALOT more range than sue sue. Now duke did come from kyles line of dogs BUT was born on Bubba Daniels yard, Bubba has a few of nicki's relatives that he still swears by. I will holler at bubba tomorrow and see how exactly duke was bred and get back to you......i'm pretty sure I know but i already messed up once so i'll find out for sure.....too many dang dog names to remember in my head lol....

O and kyle got his first dog in 1984, he was in the 7th grade, his gpa had a bunch but he wouldnt let kyle and his brothers use his cow dogs on hogs so they went and got their own, from one of his gpa's friends. he and his 2 brothers had a mess of em and kyle was the only 1 to keep em all these years. Early on he bred his dogs to his gpa's as he needed pups so I guess in a way they have been around alot longer than 84'

No sir right now I don't have any that I am willing to part with and Mr. Witherspoon doesn't either, try to stay away from breeding during the summer time but we did talk about making a breeding or 2 this fall. I do have a few grown males to pick from if you just want a stud down the line but they aren't for sale. |
