This is my first good hog skull to bring in to the house. Mike and I caught him a couple months ago.  I just got around to glueing the teeth back in tonight. I am pretty proud of this pine donkey. My peewee dog caught him solo. Smiley

Yes i did it myself. Put the skinned head in a bucket of water for two weeks, dump the head out and spray all the creamy goodness away. Let it all dry in the sun for a few days. Glue the teeth back in and look at it for years to come. Lol

Was there anything "special" about the water you had it in?  Just didn't think that letting it sit in water for a couple of weeks and you could just wash off the tissue and such?  Got one I want to do but local taxidermy wants $200 to do it.

Just water.....
I didnt believe mike when he told me but it worked great. Just put a lid on the bucket and put in the sun for two to three weeks. Be careful when u dump the bucket not to loose the little teeth.

Just set it in the sun for about a week, it will turn white... I never put bleach on them.

You can boil for a short time with baking soda in the water also. The baking soda cuts down on the boiling time tremendously.  Don't boil to long or the skull sutures will get loose.  The teeth loosen up and can be pulled and reinserted.  Then put hair bleach on like a paste.  Wrap with plastic for 24 hours then wash the bleach off.  Glue the teeth back in and glue any of the skull sutures that come loose.  The whole process can be done in 1-1/2 days.
You can also "cheat" and leave more of the tooth out of the socket to make the mount look better.
