Haven't been out hunting in a few because I had a female pit that went off her feed for two weeks. The problem was she was pregnet and the pups had gotten to big. I think cindy knew this and quit eating so that she might be able to have the babies.

Mama Cindy

Last Friday Cindy went into labor. I was in town but when I got home she had successfully had 11 puppies, but had laid on one and killed it. Cindy was very weak and stopped contracting. The next morning she started contracting again and that is when we realized there was gonna be a problem. Late that evening I pulled one dead pup from her and was hoping that was the last one, but I was wrong. Five hours later she started contracting again, it took her all day to move that pup down but she didn't have the strength to push it out. I managed to work my hands around and went to pulling and cleared her. This last pup had been dead for a day and a half inside her. So now an infection had started and her weakness for not eating took its toll and my mama dog passed. Total of 14 pups and now 11 I have to hand raise.

I was lucky and found foster homes for six pups and I took the biggest five not knowing if any pups would live because of the infection mama had. Today they are five days old and I think they are gonna make it. Here are my future CD.

Here is daddy Chico 2 yr old

Thanks guys,  I think we passed the 72 hours on pups being septic so should be smooth sailing from here other than being sleep deprived lol . I forgot how much work having babies was.

the pups look good...are you having to stimulate the pups so they can have a bowel movement? if not you need to do so...
