Take him to the vet! If you can not do that, get some cans of condensed milk and force (syringe) him to drink 4-5 ounces every half hour till he gets a whole can down. Some old dog men swear by this for snake bit dogs! Good luck with him!

Benadryl and penicillin. That's about all u can do. I wouldn't worry bout the food at this point. The venom probly has him sick to his stomach.

Yep. Had many a dogs bit by rattlers and copperheads. The combo works great, he will be back to normal in no time.

Got him good. Vet told me once that the swelling or bacteria is generally what kills a dog not the venom. That is for the snakes common here in the MS river delta anyway.

My bulldog got bit 2 weeks ago and is still swelled up. Has got better w penicillin n Benadryl n dex. Thought it was gettin better.... But today it's swelled up worse again. Y'all think I should try to drain it? Or lance it? Any ideas?

Quite a bit. He's Been on amoxicillin every day except the days I hit him w twin penn and wait two days n hit him again. It had got a little better, and swelling goin down but now it's back up. I'm wondering if he has an abcess in there or something.

It's possible. The pen should take it out tho if given regular for several days. If it is an abscess lancing would allow u to clean thoroughly and attack it from a different angle. I am not one to recommend lancing tho because I can't see it or know ur ability. At that point I recommend a trip to a vet. Something simple like this shouldn't cost much.
